The Connla Stud was established as a Connemara pony stud in 2006 with the intention to breed and produce top quality, true type Connemara ponies. 

We are a small, family run stud set in the heart of Suffolk's Constable Country.Our focal point and main contact is Lauren Ryan. Lauren has been riding and working with horses since the age of 10. Now 23, she is teaching at Bentley Riding Centre, where she also learnt to ride as a child. On completion of degree level studies for a BSc in Equine Breeding and Stud Management at Writtle College, this, along with other skills and experience attained will enable her develop our stud.

We currently hold a number of Connemara ponies. Geldings to show and produce, together with our foundation broodmare, Rathcoona Cove, yearling colts Connla Realta Reatha and Connla Stoirm. Additionally, Rathcoona Cove produced a superb quality foal in 2009, named Connla Coinneach. 

We have carefully selected broodmares with which we look to establish the stud, and progress with breeding for quality, type and temperment from established and valuable bloodlines. 

On occasion, we have youngstock or geldings for sale. Details of any ponies will be outlined on the For Sale and Wanted page.
